I began life as a post production runner in a large post house off Piccadilly Circus. These were fun times and my tea and chatter must have been good because after a few months I was promoted to the machine room and duplication department.
The art of story telling
The more time I spent in the trade the more time I spent using Avid Media Composer and the more I knew I wanted to edit. After 3 years of Edit Assisting in mostly Factual Entertainment, Observational Documentary and Reality Television I made the break to freelance as a Junior Online Editor. I realised soon enough that the offline route was more appealing to me and 12 years later I am an advanced user of Avid and Adobe Premier.
The art of telling a compelling story from very little is a great challenge and one I love to take on, to make some of the most interesting and well liked television shows on your EPG.
Tape based technology was still the standard and I learned some wonderful lessons in quality control, technical excellence in video production and even DVD authoring.
